Rigaud is three realities: the old village along Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the rural properties on the country roads, and the cottages on the slopes of Mont Rigaud or near the river. Many of those cottages have become year-round homes, with everything that demands in insulation, heating and plumbing.
We do additions that turn a cottage into a real house, basements and crawl spaces to insulate, decks that follow the slope of the lot, and French drains for foundations that take the mountain’s runoff each spring.
Sloped lots
A deck or addition on a sloped lot needs deeper footings on one side and runoff management. We plan for it in the drawing.
Converted cottages
A three-season cottage turned into a primary home often has walls that are too thin and an uninsulated crawl space. We fix the envelope before the finishes.
Mountain runoff
In spring, foundations below the mountain take a lot of water. A sound French drain and grading that pushes water away from the house make all the difference.
